Week 2

1. What I notice first about this picture is the end of the bridge.  The bright light is surrounded by so much darkness that it just leaps out.  It is like the other end of the bridge is craving attention or struggling to escape.
2. What I am looking at is a photo taken from one end of a bridge looking through to the other end.  You can see the handrails and supports for the room of the bridge as well as tree branches on the sides of the bridge.  The bridge has a cement walkway and metal supports with a wooden roof. It looks like a fair length bridge.
3. I think the composition of this photo is interesting. The focal point is not in the center bout off to the right and to the bottom a bit. There is a good quality of line in this picture because there are many hard edged lines in the middle with many soft and not so defined lines on the outside. There are many dark colors in the center and right part of the picture but it is "trapped" rather well with all the bright light colors on the sides.
4. I think this photo does tell a story.  It tells the story of just about every person.  You are just at the beginning of the bridge of life and all you have to do is just walk on through to the other side. You aren't entirely sure what is towards the end of the bridge but you can see a warm light that you need to reach in order to continue with life.  If you just stay at the beginning of the bridge and never try to go to the other side you will accomplish nothing.  A one worded title would be - Journey
5. This photo relates to the works of Honore Daumier rather well.  Many of his pieces have a large amount of dark colors with the few light white colors being the focal point.  It also relates to his works in the sense of having dark colors in the middle parts of the piece while light colors are surrounding it.
